The Public Utilities Commission will be filling a vacancy of the Facility Planner - Planner Principal State. This position will provide policy and technical analysis and interpretation of complex large energy facilities, utility regulatory matters and other energy-related issues for the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission. This position will contribute technical and analytical skills to the review of energy facility plans and proposals; coordinate and enable the participation of the general public, interest groups, local, state, regional and federal agencies, in the review of energy facility plans and proposals and other Commission activities; effectively integrate economic, environmental, and reliability aspects of energy facility planning and the application of integrated planning to proposals for the expansion of large energy infrastructure in the state and region. This career opportunity is based at the PUC offices in St. Paul, MN with some remote work. Candidates must be available to appear for briefings, meetings, and hearings in St. Paul regularly. These positions are hybrid work positions with some telework and some in-office hours, dependent on the performance of the successful candidate(s) and the business needs of the Commission. **Minimum Qualifications** + Minimum of three (3) year’s professional level experience in coordinating diverse stakeholder groups and/or working on policy or planning projects with a related outreach or information program. A Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Resource Economics, Political Science, Resource Management, Policy Planning and Development, Public Administration, or related field will substitute for professional experience, as follows: Master’s degree = 18 months of experience Bachelor’s degree = 12 months of experience Associates degree = 6 months **Preferred Qualifications** + Advanced degree in Environmental Science, Resource Economics, Resource Management, Public Administration, Policy Planning and Development, or related field. + Two (2) or more years of work experience managing policy and/or planning projects involving energy, economics, government, or environmental impact assessment **Additional Requirements** This position requires successful completion of a reference and background check.
