Facility Related Control Systems (FRCS) Engineer

General Summary

Provides highly complex technical assistance in support of operating Facility Related Control Systems (FRCS).  Provides system services in the areas of maintenance, testing, operations, logistics, integration, and installation of FRCS.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential functions)

Provides on-site system administration of FRCS. Provides security subject matter expertise in matters pertaining to FRCS/OT environments. Configures and implements industrial control system solutions for Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Supervisory, Control, and Data Acquisition (SCADA), building automation, and process control.  Provides technical assistance with regard to daily operations, system upgrades, and preventative maintenance of assigned FRCS. Properly address TCP/IP networks and RS-485 communications across multiple protocols including BACnet, Lon, Modbus, and others as required. Resolves operational and technical deficiencies within the control systems. Monitors daily FRCS operations ensuring system performance and data requirements meet specifications. Tests FRCS to ensure proper functionality. Identifies, orders, receives, and tracks parts for FRCS. May serve as a technical liaison between government customer and vendors and other stakeholders.
