Description

As a Factory Automation Software Engineer, you'll be implementing/interfacing semiconductor tools into the Manufacturing Enterprise System. In addition, you will be integrating message fault events along various lines of communication. Also, you'll write up user case flowchart/diagrams after collaborating with tool operators and process engineers on effective automation processing for production. You'll establish the necessary communication channels and business flow logic via SECS/GEM, OPC and others via the Recipe Tool Automation software platform. As part of this process, you will be validating messages and system status through external connections utilizing software API’s.

Responsibilities Collaborate with Automation Engineers, Process Engineers, Industrial Engineers, and operations team to gather use case requirements and execute. Develop scripted scenarios on an automation platform, which may include Java/JavaScript code segments Review others scripted scenarios from various global locations Work with the external Factory Automation contractors, IT team and equipment vendors as needed to facilitate SECS/GEM Communication is functioning as expected. Debug and test end to end communication channels. Utilize a SECS/GEM tool simulator to script mock communications Create text parsers to manipulate tool recipe files into a usable format Establish data lookups in various databases via SQL Load and validate semiconductor tool recipe files into automation system Enter and look up semiconductor tool details in databases Maintain the current suite of deployments while working with Factory Automation team and others to support enhancements, and additional priorities. Responds to trouble calls, recognize, and identify and corrects developed software errors to maintain operational goals. Coordinate software updates for deployed tools with operations so as not to negatively impact manufacturing goals. Training resource for factory automation systems. Works with users to support knowledge of system, where possible, to encourage on shift resolution of issues. Required Experience and Skills Previous experience building semiconductor tool recipe validation checks within a Recipe Selection/Management Tool or standalone recipe validation applications Intermediate networking and serial communication set up Experience in programming with Java on Eclipse Strong knowledge of SECS/GEM communication and negotiation Experience and troubleshooting skills working with semiconductor equipment external communications Experience understanding semiconductor tool faults Experience connecting to multiple databases, such as Microsoft SQL, Oracle, etc. Experience debugging software entry and exit communications tracing through various logs Experience with manufacturing enterprise systems (MES) Agile project management understanding Desired Experience and Skills Experience in automating semiconductor tools on the Systema Platform Experience with PROMIS (MES)

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD $112,500 - $215,900 per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different base pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S. Benefits include access to healthcare benefits (including a premium-free medical plan option), a 401(k) plan and company match, an employee stock purchase plan, paid time off (including vacation, sick/wellness, parental leave), among others.
