Engineering Faculty Position
The University of Mary invites applications for a full-time assistant or associate faculty position in Computer Science or Computer Engineering to begin Fall 2025. Salary is commensurate with qualifications, experience, and rank; Advanced degree is required by time of, or soon after, employment.
The successful candidate will teach computer science and/or computer engineering courses in the Hamm School of Engineering and will also advise students within the School. Candidates should be able to develop and teach courses and corresponding labs, and be able to teach a wide variety of software and hardware-oriented courses. A Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred, Masters required, no specific sub discipline is sought.
Knowledge and Skills
- Responsible for providing instruction on a wide range of computer science courses, including an introductory survey course, Programming with C, C++, Bash, Python, Web Programming (Javascript, PHP, MySQL), as well as some hardware-oriented courses.
- Knowledge of the Linux Operating system is preferred.
- Instruct students on how computers work, including the basic science and mathematics behind their operation and the hardware and the software built on those foundations.
- Teach how to write computer programs, algorithms and programming languages.
- Keep records of grades, grade papers, and perform other administrative duties as needed.
- Create projects designed to enhance lectures.
