Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Faculty Group Practice Ultrasound Tech - Maternal Fetal Medicine at our Ambulatory Care Center in Bay Ridge. 

Responsible for performing diagnostic sonographic examinations utilizing ultrasonic equipment in various modes and techniques to locate evaluate and record pertinent anatomical pathological and functional data. Operates ultrasound equipment to make quality images #59; performs studies in required modalities. Provides training guidance to Ultrasound Technology students.

Job Responsibilities:

Performs other duties as assignedDemonstrates knowledge of the hospital and radiology information systems as they relate to radiologySelects appropriate patient information from HIS/RIS system in accordance with HIPPA regulationsAccesses patient information; schedules exams appointment times type of exam patient reports etcFollows departmental HIS/RIS system procedures and protocol to ensure orders are verified and processed to correctlyEffectively assesses patients information and status and follows appropriate procedure s accordinglyUses standard procedures to identify the correct patientReviews patients requisition and understands the type of exam required by each requisition and confers with medical staff regarding clarification when necessaryFollows accepted radiologic procedures and uses medical information to determine the type of protocol required for radiographic examinationConsults policy and procedure manuals and/or other reference materials as necessary to ensure actions conform to established protocolsFollows special instructions indicated on radiographic requisitionRecognizes need for and follows isolation precautionsIndependently implements patient procedures in accordance with departmental protocols and standardsExplains the procedure and equipment to the patient clearlySolves problems that arise during patient examinations using both technical knowledge and innovationAlters examination to maximize information in response to patients' conditionConfers with other technologists concerning previous approaches utilizedDemonstrates skill in equipment setup utilization and proper maintenance procedurePerforms visual and manual quality control checks of radiographic equipmentUses imaging and peripheral equipment in a safe and productive manner in accordance with prescribed hospital departmental and manufacturer proceduresObserves and reports any malfunctioning of the equipment and notifies appropriate persons in case of missing or damaged equipmentDirects and monitors student clinical trainingObserves the student during clinical training guide them to perform good ultrasound proceduresConveys information to students to increase their level of understandingEvaluates the student's progress in clinical areasMonitors the work performed by students under their supervision

Minimum Qualifications:
Certificate from an approved ultrasound/vascular technology education program. Registered or registry eligible to take the Registry exam ARDMS within 1 year of hire date. Five years of ultrasound experience.

Preferred Qualifications: Registered as an American Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Registered Vascular Technologist

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York State Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $103,625.08 - $114,225.07 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital needs. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentives, differential pay, or other forms of compensation or benefits.
