Faculty Position in Primary Care Sports Medicine

The UCLA Department of Family Medicine seeks a full-time BC family physician who holds a Certificate of Added Qualification (CAQ) in primary care sports medicine to join its teaching faculty in our Sports Medicine Division. Academic appointment will be in the Health Sciences clinical series, rank and salary commensurate with level of experience.

This unique role offers a collaborative opportunity to work closely with UCLA Urology in an innovative clinical setting focused on comprehensive urology men’s health. As part of the men's health clinic, you will provide non-surgical care in partnership with our renowned urology program, helping address the significant demand for urologic services and improving access to high-quality care. Fellowship training in non-surgical urologic care is not required, though an interest in this area is essential. The goal is to enhance holistic care in men’s health while leveraging UCLA’s national reputation for excellence in Family Medicine and Urology.

As part of UCLA’s dynamic academic Department of Family Medicine, you will join a team that encompasses a family medicine residency, primary care sports medicine, addiction medicine, health services research, and community medicine fellowships. Our academic family medicine department is a top 10 program nationally and consistently in the top 5 in NIH funding.

This position provides a distinctive opportunity to practice medicine at the intersection of family and urologic care while contributing to innovative academic and clinical practices. Responsibilities include primary care and primary care sports medicine patient care, teaching within an ACGME approved primary care sports medicine fellowship program, teaching family medicine residents and DGSOM medical students, participation in clinical research, community and public service, and other scholarly endeavors that will lead to academic promotion. Experience caring for individuals from a highly diverse population of patients is desired.

Requirements:
• Board certification in Family Medicine.
• CAQ in Primary Care Sports Medicine.
• California medical licensure (or eligibility).
• Interest and/or experience in men’s health and collaborative care with a urology team.

The posted UC salary scales (https://www.ucop.edu/academic-personnel-programs/compensation/index.html) set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5, Scale 5. The salary range for this position is $136,100- $357,500 depending on Rank and Step. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan (https://www.ucop.edu/academic-personnel-programs/_files/apm/apm-670.pdf), which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.
