Responsibilities
Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida, seeks an innovative, driven 7T MRI Scientist to join our world-class team. This role offers a rare opportunity to advance research in ultra-high-field (UHF) MRI, focusing on addressing the challenges of 7T MRI technology. The successful candidate will collaborate with leading physicians and scientists, contribute to cutting-edge clinical advancements, and help translate 7T MRI technologies into practical, impactful clinical applications.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and conduct research in advanced 7T MRI, particularly in areas such as image reconstruction, parallel transmit (pTx) pulse design, X-nuclei imaging (e.g., deuterium [²H]), motion correction, or functional neuroimaging (fMRI).Develop and implement novel methodologies to enhance imaging quality and streamline clinical workflows.Work closely with a multidisciplinary team of clinicians, physicists, and Siemens engineers to design and evaluate innovative UHF MRI solutions.Publish high-impact research in leading peer-reviewed journals and present at national and international conferences.Secure external funding for ongoing and future research projects.Mayo Clinic Florida, consistently ranked as the #1 hospital in Florida, offers an unmatched environment for research and innovation.The Department of Radiology boasts over 80 full-time faculty, advanced imaging technologies, including a Siemens 7T Terra.X clinical/research MRI, a fleet of Siemens 3T and 1.5T MRIs, GE PET/MR, and an on-site cyclotron. Mayo Clinic provides extensive institutional support for translational neuroscience and biomedical engineering, with ample intramural funding opportunities.
Qualifications
PhD in Physics, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.Demonstrated research excellence through a robust record of peer-reviewed publications and presentations.Familiarity with the Siemens 7T MRI platform is preferred but not required.Strong communication and collaborative skills.
