Summary
The Department of Health Outcomes and Behavior (HOB) at Moffitt Cancer Center, a National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center on the University of South Florida campus in Tampa, is seeking a faculty member (tenure earning, open rank) with research interests in behavioral science and outcomes research.
The Department has 18 faculty members engaged in research on health behaviors (e.g., tobacco, exercise, nutrition, etc.), cancer prevention and screening, survivorship, health disparities, equity, and health services. We particularly encourage applicants with a background in health services research and specialized training in implementation science. However, we will also consider applications in other areas of research. Salary and start-up funds are highly competitive.
Position Highlights:
Moffitt features a robust infrastructure for conducting observational and interventional studies. This includes well-established collaborations with clinical programs, a highly regarded biostatistics program with expertise in analyzing patient-reported data, a survey methods shared resource, numerous pilot funding opportunities, and extensive administrative support for grant submissions and management. Moffitt is the country's third largest, free-standing cancer center by patient volume, facilitating patient recruitment. Additional resources include diverse networks of community partners, institutional initiatives supporting digital health, and a well-established supportive care program. Extensive retrospective data for real-world evidence studies and other research are available from an integrated repository of clinical, research, and patient-reported information and biospecimens from a large cohort of patients. Moffitt has a very active translational research program investigating a wide variety of novel therapeutics and experience in basic science, with an emphasis on immunology, cancer biology and evolution, and drug discovery. The Center is characterized by a culture of collegiality and team science, facilitating cross-disciplinary collaborations.

The Ideal Candidate:
Embraces team science and collaboration with faculty within and outside Moffitt. Demonstrates experience (or potential) as an independent researcher with extramurally funded research studies, presentations at national and international conferences, and a record of high-quality peer-reviewed publications. Demonstrates a commitment to engaging with diverse settings and populations.

Maintain a productive, independent research program. Engage in educational (e.g., mentorship) and service activities within Moffitt and externally.
Credentials and Qualifications:
The successful candidate should have a PhD or equivalent degree with relevant research training and experience.
Academic rank beyond Assistant Member will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. The position is tenure-earning. Salary and start-up funds are highly competitive.
