Faculty Positions in the Department of Microbiology - Assistant Rank

The Department of Microbiology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for several Assistant Professor positions in the tenure track. Expertise is required in the specific area of bacteriology, virology and/or host pathogen interactions. Applicants must have an M.D. and/or Ph.D degree.
Teaching responsibilities may include graduate student and medical student courses. The selected candidates may be expected to serve on preliminary exam committees and thesis committees.
Research or scholarship responsibilities may include the establishment of an independent, extramurally funded research program.
The positions include a competitive salary, high-quality laboratory space and start-up funding. The Microbiology/Immunology community offers an intellectually diverse environment with extensive Cores. It is expected that the candidates chosen will serve on departmental committees. The Microbiology Department and the University of Pennsylvania comprise a large, interactive community of outstanding scientists investigating microbial biology, immunology, and infectious disease. Faculty within Applicants will be reviewed on a rolling basis, and we will prioritize applicants submitted prior to September 15, 2024.
