Essential Functions (Job Duties): As a faculty member of the Department of Oncology and the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute (KCI) an NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center in the Population Studies and Disparities Research Program, candidate must have a strong potential to develop a robust, independent research program. Demonstrate a commitment to community engagement and will be expected to conduct community-based intervention research that is responsive to the needs and disparities within KCI's 46-county catchment area in Michigan, with the goal of advancing cancer prevention and control and health equity. The candidate will be expected to secure external funding that will provide salary support as Principal Investigator or Co Principal Investigator and support research efforts and projects. Demonstrated record of peer-reviewed literature as first or co-author. The successful candidate will join a highly dynamic and collegial academic setting, and will receive a competitive start-up package, generous laboratory space, state-of-the-art core facilities, and an environment that supports multidisciplinary collaboration. The candidate will be expected to contribute to departmental activities, and demonstrate excellence in teaching and trainee mentorship in our graduate and medical programs. Qualifications: All candidates must have a PhD, ScD, or equivalent in psychology, public health, nursing, social work, sociology, or other similar scientific discipline with an outstanding postdoctoral record of high impact research and strong potential to develop a robust, independent research program.
