At UWM, our Fair Lending Officer will aid in the assessment and remediation of risks associated with applicable fair lending laws. You will get in the weeds with respect to our HMDA data and oversee the fair lending program. Plus, with the assistance of our third-party vendor, you will perform periodic analysis and lending and denial activity to document and address fair lending risks. This position is a great opportunity to show off your data knowledge and skills as an industry expert in data and fair lending risk assessment.
The ideal candidate for this position will have experience with residential mortgage lending data and a deep understanding of statistics principles, specifically as they pertain to fair lending.
This position reports directly to the Associate General Counsel & Consumer Advocate.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING Establishing and maintaining a collaborative working relationship with lending personnelCollecting and preparing data file for fair lending analysisIn conjunction with a third-party vendor, conducting periodic analysis of lending and denial activity to identify, document and address fair lending risksAssisting in updating and overseeing the fair lending program, policies and proceduresDeveloping and maintaining training materials for company-wide team member training as well as additional training specifically tailored to certain lending functionsMaintaining current knowledge of lending products, programs, operations, systems and controlsAssisting other compliance team members with the coordination of regulatory compliance exams and audits as necessaryOther responsibilities and tasks as assigned WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent work experience related to statistics, data management, and/or actuarial scienceExperience analyzing data and preparing reports Strong computer, problem solving and communication skillsComfortable in a fast-moving environmentAbility to multitask and adaptOnsite, full-time attendanceSelf-motivated with a strong work ethicAbility to work in a team environmentExcellent organizational skillsPositive attitude and willingness to learn
Preferred:
