Fall Co-Op, Immune Oncology & Histology
Description

Boehringer Ingelheim is currently seeking a talented and innovative Intern to join our Oncology department located at our Ridgefield CT facility. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented co-op student to join our Immunology Research team. The successful candidate will assist in staining histology samples using multi-color panels to help identify and characterize immune archetypes. This position offers hands-on experience in a cutting-edge research environment and the opportunity to contribute to impactful scientific discoveries.

Duties & Responsibilities Prepare and stain histology samples using multi-color immunohistochemistry (IHC) and immunofluorescence (IF) techniques.Assist in the optimization and validation of staining protocols.Perform image acquisition and analysis using advanced microscopy and imaging software.Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory records.Collaborate with team members to interpret and present data.Ensure compliance with laboratory safety protocols and procedures.Requirements Major or minor in related field such as Molecular biology, Cancer biology, or Immunology.Must be a current graduate or advanced degree student in good academic standing Student must be enrolled at a college or university for the duration of the internship Overall cumulative minimum GPA from last completed quarter/semester 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) preferredGraduate and Advanced Degree students must have completed at least 9 credit hours at current college or university

 

Desired Experience, Skills and Abilities:

Basic understanding of histology and immunology principles.Experience with laboratory techniques, including sample preparation and staining.Familiarity with microscopy and imaging software is a plus.Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

 

Compensation: This position offers an hourly rate of $29.00 to $33.00/hr. commensurate to the level of degree program in which an applicant is actively enrolled. For an overview of our benefits please click here.
