Responsibilities This position serves as a technical resource for MSA Engineered Systems’ Installer and Distributor network as well as end user customers and the field sales team. In addition to fielding calls and inquiries related to the engineered systems applications, this role is responsible for providing design solutions for various industries including the utilities, power transmission, and roofing industry. As technical support, this position liaises with manufacturers and architects to provide product specifications as applicable for the structure design and Bill of Materials for product within the design specifications. Serve as a technical resource for MSA Engineered Systems’ Installer and Distributor network as well as end user customers and the field sales team. Field calls from end user customers and integrators, providing answers to technical product and application questions and product solutions appropriate for their needs Align end user customers with associated integrators as appropriate Support field sales force (Fall Protection) Liaise with Fall Protection and MSA Engineered Systems Engineering teams to field questions and provide support. Assist sales personnel in growing market share for MSA Engineered Systems and MSA Fall Protection products. Support, drive and monitor key sales opportunities with integrators and end users. Develop and maintain relationships with end user customers and integrators as the first point of contact for all technical requirements Develop understanding of customer requirements and gain detailed knowledge of utility networks, system towers, and roofing industry Provide a high level of customer satisfaction and build customer loyalty for repeat business and customer referrals Provide design services and solutions for various industries including the utilities, power transmission, and roofing industry. Develop moderately complex engineered systems solutions with existing product portfolio to meet potential and existing end user customer needs Using existing utility, power transmission, roofing and other industry job specific drawings, incorporate engineered systems solutions into structure or roofing design and supply to end user customer or integrator Review plans and provide guidance and direction to integrators as needed Read and coordinate architectural and structural drawings with engineering calculations Produce Bill of Materials for product within the design specifications Communicate with end users and integrators during the development of drawings as needed Remain current with technical, industry, and product developments such as modifications, changes and enhancements for application in designs Liaise with Fall Protection and MSA Engineered Systems Engineering teams as needed Coordinate and prioritize work for effective time management Provide end user service and support through on site visits – including inspection of installed systems Visit customer sites, perform surveys and analysis of existing systems and offer engineered systems solutions as an alternative Review engineered systems in place for inspection and troubleshooting purposes. Provide training and support as needed Training Support May develop and/or provide training to integrators, field sales, end user customers and others as needed by using tools such as web casts, hands on training (including at the site), and reach out calls including monitoring results Qualifications Experience (required): Min 3 years AutoCAD 3D design experience and 3 years technical support experience in Fall Protection Industry Ability to understand and apply technical product knowledge to project design, Bill of Materials development, market and field sales activities. Ability to learn, understand and apply regulatory requirements/standards (ex EN, ANSI, OSHA, and CSA) to design application. Ability to read and manipulate AutoCAD 3D and other Solid Modelling Software designs to provide effective customer solutions incorporating engineered systems into structure design. Strong communication skills including verbal, written, presentation with ability to communicate with all levels of staff and translate technical expertise to non-technical audience as needed. Strong problem solving and planning and organizing skills Experience (preferred): Experience with Solid Modelling Software such as Solidworks Experience in the Utilities, Power Transmission, and/or Roofing/Architectural/Construction Industry Travel: 25% of time
