Advanced Manufacturing Technician (AMT) - FAME Program

The FAME Advanced Manufacturing Technician (AMT) Program is designed to develop highly skilled technicians who meet rigorous nonacademic standards, skills, and performance requirements. Graduates are prepared for various technical roles in manufacturing and related fields.

Key Responsibilities:

Communication:

Effectively communicate with colleagues and external contacts.Read, interpret, and document technical and non-technical information.Write processes and procedures to facilitate operations.

Motor Coordination:

Safely move heavy objects and use appropriate techniques and machinery.Lift and manipulate up to 50 lbs. multiple times daily.Perform skilled work across electrical, fluid power, mechanical, and fabrication areas.

Mobility:

Stand and walk independently for up to 12 hours per day.Work continuously for up to 5 hours.Navigate and work in various environments, including small and low spaces.

Sensory:

Gather and interpret information for technical tasks.Discern normal and abnormal machine and process conditions.Operate equipment under variable lighting and perceive depth accurately.

Intellectual:

Use critical and analytical thinking for planning and problem-solving.Analyze data to determine appropriate actions.Perform maintenance, countermeasures, and repairs safely.

Social:

Collaborate effectively with team members and other professionals.Maintain prompt attendance and adhere to program standards.Demonstrate professional, honest, and ethical behavior.

Professional Behavior:

Maintain academic honesty and ethical behavior on social media.Adhere to college, department, and company policies and regulations.

Qualifications:

Completion of the FAME AMT program.Ability to meet the physical, sensory, intellectual, and social requirements outlined above.Preparedness for employment in industrial maintenance, manufacturing, and related fields.
