Family Services & Loan Manager
Habitat
This individual is responsible for overseeing all phases of the homebuying program, which includes planning, strategy, management and implementation of Mortgage and Loan Services. This position is responsible for the implementation of fair housing laws and best practices; collecting and maintaining accurate applicant, participant and mortgage/repair loan related data; and the collection and reconciliation of Mortgage and Loan Services financial accounts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee Family Service Coordinator, Family Services AmeriCorps Member and volunteers to process pre-applications for the Homeownership Program and the Critical Home Repair Program (CHR) and provide timely communication with applicants; and preserve data in Salesforce
Provide correct documentation for application assessment to the Family Selection Team and/or Home Repair Manager
Collect and maintain documents from program participants as required for home selection, mortgage and CHR loan underwriting, house closings, mortgage management, grant drawdowns and compliance.
Responsible for reporting occupancy status to Finance Department for proper insurance placement on vacant and rented properties.
Collect and record any mortgage, pronto or forbearance payments while monitoring customer accounts to maintain correct data with our mortgage service providers.
Process homebuyer and homeowner accounts receivables including rental income, bedroom buy-ups, appliance upgrades and repair loans
Communicate with mortgage service providers regarding account status, late charges, and escrow adjustments.
Reconcile monthly mortgage report to general ledger.
Transfer data for mortgage onboarding.
Manage mortgage curtailment and adjustment process.
Manage mortgage payoff process
Attend Family Partnership Committee, Family Selection Team, Family Support Team, and Program Education Team and any Program Work Groups as requested by Program Director.
Assist Family Service Coordinator conducting participant meetings including Homebuyer and Homeward Bound group meetings (kickoff and quarterly).
Additional Responsibilities:
Participate in media, fundraising, and celebration/recognition events.
Act as an ambassador to support the mission and values of Habitat for Humanity.
Perform Notary Public services for affiliate, once certified.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor Degree in Business/Finance/Accounting or equivalent work experience of 5 years or more, preferably in the Mortgage Banking sector.
Qualified Loan Originator Certification
Working knowledge of Habitat for Humanity financial model preferred
Working knowledge of CFPB regulations, Federal Fair Housing and Lending law, and Foreclosure law.
Willingness to acquire Notary Public certification required.
Customer service orientation.
Analytical aptitude.
Proficiency with modern computer systems and data entry.
Skill in computer applications, preferably applications such as Word, Excel, Sales Force and QuickBooks.
Strong interpersonal skills
Accuracy with attention to detail
Ability to multitask in a high paced environment
