Norfolk Human Services seeks members interested in providing skilled services in a public service environment. We are also seeking persons to join our team that are dedicated to supporting a positive work and treatment environment that instills hope and recovery opportunities for the persons we serve. The City of Norfolk's Department of Human Services seeks to hire a Family Services Worker III as the training liaison to Child Protective Services (CPS) and In-Home Services (IHS) programs. The Family Services Worker III-Training Liaison will be responsible for the onboarding, training, and coaching of new and established family services workers in the CPS and IHS programs. The Training Liaison will also provide cross-training to Permanency and Adult Services programs. The Training Liaison is critical to the agency's continuous quality improvement efforts. Department Hiring Salary Range: $52,755.00 - 60,668.25 Essential Functions Essential functions include but are not limited to: + Responsible to onboard new family services workers, coordinate systems access, secure equipment, and create training plans. + Coordinate and provide agency orientation and program level training for Child Protective Service and In-Home staff. + Develop online and in-person trainings and job aids for new workers + Coordinate, monitor and track Virginia Department of Social Services (VDSS) required training. + Serve as a liaison with family services supervisors and programs manager to provide and coordinate job shadowing and on the job training, to include field observations. + Monitor and evaluate performance and progress of staff by reviewing contact notes, service plans, and other documentation. + Offer feedback, guidance, and coaching to improve worker competencies outlined in the VDSS Practice Model. + Coordinate and facilitate family partnership meetings. + Participate in Family Assessment and Planning Team (FAPT) meetings. + Provides training and supervision to student interns. Education/Experience Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a Human Services field or minimum of a Bachelor's degree in any field and minimum of two years of appropriate and related experience in a Human Services area (Section 22VAC40-670-20 of the Administrative Code of Virginia). Possession of a BSW or MSW degree and a Commonwealth of Virginia Social Worker license are desirable.
