Job Title: Family Specialist 

Job Summary:                                                   

CASES is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Family Specialist to join our Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team. As a Master's-level mental health clinician, the Family Specialist will play a vital role in outreaching and supporting clients within the community, adhering closely to the ACT model.

The primary responsibility of the Family Specialist is to provide treatment and services aimed at fostering recovery and stability for clients and their identified family members. This role demands a holistic approach, addressing the unique needs of each client and their support system.

At CASES, we recognize that our staff are both generalists and specialists. This means that while the title does not define the clinical services provided and is not limited and will draw upon each staff member's areas of expertise and interest. Salary: The salary for this role is $65,000 per year.


Shift Hours: This position full-time Monday through Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm

 

Location Address: 2090 Adam Clayton Powell Jr Boulevard, New York, NY 10027. Our office is easily accessible by public transportation.


Workplace Flexibility: 

This position is Flexible: This position has flexible work flexibility where for which staff have flexibility to complete their work day from home or another suitable space, typically after reporting to the office and/or engaging in field or community-based work.

What you will be doing: 

Provide at least 80 percent of treatment contacts in the community and complete expected minimum monthly treatment contacts, including leading groups when clinically indicated;Attend and participate in daily team meetings to discuss clients’ clinical and case management issues and needs;Complete documentations required by the NYS Office of Mental Health (OMH) and NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene’s (DOHMH) licensing guidelines, NYS Medicaid billing guidelines as well as per CASES ACT Policy and Procedures;Collaborate with client’s support network and other service providers on treatment planning, service coordination, and case management support with the goal of promoting client’s recovery and stability in the community;Provide clinical services that are anti-racist, gender-responsive, culturally humble, trauma-informed, recovery-oriented, client-centered, and evidence-based.Complete required documentations and toxicology tests for clients with active Assisted Outpatient Treatment (AOT) order;Provide 24-hour crisis intervention on-call services on rotating basis;Provide culturally competent services in accordance with CASES policies and practice.

 

What we are looking for: 

LMHC, MHC-LP, LMSW, LCSW, with current New York State license;Experience working with individuals with serious mental illness, and/or co-occurring substance use disorders;Experience with various evidence-based models pertaining to treatment of substance use, and mental illness;A team player, highly organized and self-motivated;Individuals with lived experience are encouraged to apply.

Preferred but not required:

Experience working with individuals involved in criminal legal system;Bilingual Spanish.
