Overview Coordinate the development, implementation and evaluation of family centered, educational and social activities to support parents of Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) infants. Round and meet with NICU families providing support and information Help manage the NICU Parent Family Advisory Council Recruit, educate and help manage parent to parent volunteers Participate in the NICU Quality Improvement committee and other unit committees as requested Serve as a liaison between March of Dimes and hospital to maintain partnership. Organization Expectations, as applicable: Demonstrates ability to provide care or service adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level and cultural differences of population served Partners with patient care giver in care/decision making. Communicates in a respective manner. Ensures a safe, secure environment. Individualizes plan of care to meet patient needs. Modifies clinical interventions based on population served. Provides patient education based on as assessment of learning needs of patient/care giver. Fulfills all organizational requirements Completes all required learning relevant to the role Complies with all relevant laws, regulation and policies Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Required Education Bachelor’s Degree in social work, child & family studies, public health, nursing, counseling or other related subject. Experience 1-3 years of experience in a related field (parent educator, social work, public health, nursing, volunteer services, counseling).
