Pineland Farms is one of the largest food manufacturing organizations located in Aroostook County. Our Mars Hill facility has over 200 incredible team members who work together to provide our customers with the best possible potato product. Responsibilities JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for operating equipment ensuring only the highest quality product is being produced. This position has the responsibility to comply with Safety work rules at all times as well as an obligation to reinforce Safety as a Core Value. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: • Responsible for setting up, inspecting, and cleaning, if applicable, to ensure equipment reliability. • Prepare, maintain, and thoroughly complete all quality and production documentation. • Product handling, packaging, transferring, and retrieving product from one location to another while meeting production efficiency. • Troubleshoot equipment that is not running effectively. • Maintain cross-functional interaction with other production departments, quality & maintenance technicians and supervisors regarding any production requirements or issues that may arise. • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures, incorporate safety and health in all jobs and tasks. Take personal responsibility to ensure a safe and healthy workplace for everyone. • Adhere to Quality work practices, follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Ensure that all policies, procedures, and activities related to Food Safety and Quality are followed and complied with, in effort to reduce process variability. • Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications EDUCATION AND EXPEREINCE REQUIRED: • Must have the ability to work in high and confined spaces while following safety procedures. • Must be able to work overtime and/or weekends when required. PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS: • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent. • Three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization. • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide with the use of a calculator. • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. • Ability to prioritize and follow directions with little/no supervision. • Must have ability to do multi-functional tasks. Must be able to work overtime and/or weekends when required. • Bi-lingual (Spanish-English) is a plus. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, and feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; taste and smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The employee will be exposed to a noisy environment that varies from hot to cold in temperature. The employee is occasionally required to work from heights.
