The ideal candidate will be trained in roles could include semen collection, administering medications and vaccinations, feeding, cleaning, computer analysis, welding, plumbing, carpentry and maintaining veterinary medical records. This role is directly involved with the planning and implementation of our company’s policies and procedures related to animal welfare and pork/semen production.  Essential Responsibilities: Swine husbandry: feeding/watering/movingAssisting with Boar semen collection processHandling and administering medications and vaccinationsVaccinating and medicating boars.Cleaning and disinfection of facilities, including removal of mortality and waste.Maintaining records of animal production and veterinary products.Animal Identification including administering ear tagsAttending Safety trainingAnimal welfare adherenceAnimal feeding and feeder managementIdentification and ability to correct basic maintenance needs by utilizing welding, plumbing, electrical and carpentry skillsEuthanasia of animals when neededProduction/facility housekeeping duties such as cleaning animal housing areas and office/shower/kitchen/lab area  May include maintenance duties such as welding, plumbing, electrical and carpentryAny other tasks asked by Assistant or Manager Required Qualifications: Be a team oriented, self-motivated and positive individual with strong work ethicAbility to efficiently multi-task in a fast-paced environmentAbility to learn or already have technology knowledge, computer skillsAble to work every other weekendAble to bend, push, grasp, and pull up to 80 lbs.Constant walking – 95% of dayReliable method of transportationAbility to work scheduled hours as business needs ariseAble to work early 1st shift hoursExcellent attendance is expected to help meet business goals Preferred Qualifications: Prior farm experience, ideally swine productionPower washing experienceFamiliarity with Bio-Security  The applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following compensation and benefits:Benefits: Vision, Medical, and Dental coverage begin after 60 days of employment;Paid Time Off: vacation, and 6 company observed holidays;401(k): company match begins after the first year of service and follows the company vesting schedule;Better Futures Program – Online Classes or select 2 Year Community College tuition paid for you or your dependents!  Leadership Fundamentals Program: Opportunity to grow your career through leadership training.   Travel: May travel 1-2 times per year.   The company is dedicated to ensuring a safe and secure environment for our team members and visitors.
