Our client, a leader in precision manufacturing, is seeking a Fastener Engineer to join their team. As a Fastener Engineer, you will be part of the engineering department supporting innovative tooling design and development. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a collaborative mindset which will align successfully in the organization.
**Job Title:** Fastener Engineer
**Location:** Fraser, Michigan
**Pay Range:** $84,000 - $100,000
**What's the Job?**
+ Review & analyze blueprints, product drawings, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to design & develop header tooling.
+ Create & maintain design drawings, bill of materials, technical specifications, and related engineering documentation for all tooling used in the heading process.
+ Utilize 3D modeling & drafting software such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks for the creation of assembly & detailed design drawings.
+ Identify Quality Assurance needs such as tolerance requirements, surface finish, and material microstructure.
+ Collaborate with tool room machinists & header operators for prototype tooling fabrication, test, evaluation & validation.
**What's Needed?**
+ Degree (B.S. or A.S.) in Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering discipline required.
+ Minimum of 5 years of prior experience in design & development of tooling & progressions for heading operations.
+ High level of familiarity with operation of cold heading processes such as 4die-4blow and progressive heading.
+ Proficiency with GD&T requirements and standard inspection methods.
+ Hands-on experience working with Tool Room machines for fabricating, polishing & assembling heading dies is strongly desired.
