To perform personal care duties under the direction of administration for all long term care residents.
ResponsibilitiesProvides personal care services in accordance with residents' desires, as well as medical needs. Coordinates with other departments and honors resident preferences when scheduling services in order to meet resident’s holistic care needs. Documents services rendered in the computerized health record accurately and timely.Ensures safe, clean environment for all residents, visitors, and staff using industrial standards for sterilization and infection control requirements.Maintain quotas, order and obtain supplies needed to provide for the personal care needs of facility residents in a cost effective manner. Coordinates with and assists the Education Coordinator and Nursing Supervisors to formally educate other departments on issues related to personal care through the facility education program. Supervises licensed and unlicensed staff working within the department to maintain departmental safety and infection control guidelines. Performs duties based upon established standards of practice for adults and geriatrics.

Must adhere to all DCH Health System policies and procedures.All other duties as assigned. QualificationsCosmetologist must be in good standing and currently licensed by the State of Alabama. High School diploma or equivalent required. Computer skills or general knowledge of facility computers preferred. Demonstrates good communication skills for all population served. Positive attitude toward the elderly. Must be able to read, write, speak, and comprehend English.
