Salary: $41,097.16 Annual Rate SALARY WILL BE DETERMINED IN ACCORDANCE WITH CURRENT PAY POLICY. SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: INMATE TRUST FUND: + Responsible for operating multi-line main phone line for the Inmate Trust Fund section and assisting callers, researching inquiries, and/or routing calls appropriately to other staff members. + Processes inmate trust fund entries into the automated accounting system. + Assists in auditing accounting batches (electronically generated and manual), researches/resolves differences, prepares deposit slips as required. + Audits daily disbursements/warrants and prepares for mailing. + Prepares correspondence to internal and external parties. + Processes daily mail. + Researches and responds to inquiries from internal and external parties as required. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: + High school diploma or its equivalent. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: + Experience answering a multi-line phone. + At least two (2) or more years of general accounting or auditing experience or one (1) or more years of post-secondary education in Accounting, Business Administration or Finance. + At least two (2) or more years of experience applying accounting principles and/or procedural, administrative, or statutory regulations to daily work assignments to ensure compliance. + At least one (1) or more years of experience preparing financial statements or reports using Word, Excel and/or automated accounting systems. + At least one (1) or more years of experience in accounting system data entry. + Experience with trust fund/fiduciary accounting.
