Document Specialist Supervisor – 70021310
This advertisement is for a Selected Exempt Service (SES) position located at 20-4 Ft. Myers South.
Salary: $35,429.94 annually
SALARY WILL BE DETERMINED IN ACCORDANCE WITH CURRENT PAY POLICY.
SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ As supervisor, this position communicates with, motivate, provide or coordinate training, evaluate employee’s work, plan and direct the employees’ work, and has authority to hire or recommend the hire, transfer or discipline subordinate employee.
+ Responsible for planning, reviewing and word processing assignments of subordinate word processing systems operators, in a large circuit office in a variety of specialized word processing functions.
+ Supervises a unit of word processing systems operators. Trains and supervises word processors, assigns work as appropriate and is responsible for the even distribution of the workload within the word processing unit. Prepares control books of all stored material s. Maintains files of Departmental Directives and supervisory correspondence and is responsible for the processing of incoming and outgoing mail on a daily basis.
+ Motivates subordinate staff and evaluates employees to ensure that the work product is in keeping with the Department standards. Evaluates employees through established evaluation criteria and meets regularly with subordinate employees to ensure that the pre-established criteria are met. Communicates on a regular basis with subordinate employees in staff meetings and individually.
+ Provides complete work processing support for all users and determines personnel requirements to insure even workflow.
+ Responsible for the overall accuracy and accounting of cost of supervision and other financial payments and procedures. Ensures compliance with Circuit, Region and Departmental Standards Operating Procedures.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
+ Two years of work experience in the operation of word processing equipment; or three years of secretarial or clerical work experience; or possession of a Certified Professional Secretary Certificate.
+ College education from an accredited institution can substitute at the rate of 30 semester or 45 quarter hours for each year of the required three years of secretarial or clerical work experience. Vocational/technical training in an area of secretarial science or office/business studies or word processing can substitute at the rate of 720 classroom hours for each year of the required work experience. A high school diploma or its equivalent can substitute for one year of the required three years of secretarial or clerical work experience.
