This advertisement is for a Career Service position located at South Florida Reception Center in the Photography Labratory.
Salary: $33,760.22 Annually
SALARY WILL BE DETERMINED IN ACCORDANCE WITH CURRENT PAY POLICY.
SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operates the digital Photo Imaging ID System to produce identification badges and file photos for inmates on a daily basis. Maintains all necessary data and image changes to records stored in the computer, ensuring periodic back-up tapes are made. Maintains compliance with the Public Safety Information Act which includes sending images, via the internet, of inmates taken daily to Tallahassee, ensure photos are taken of inmates within sixty days of their release data and sent to Tallahassee. Photograph all medical inmates received. Maintains a thirty-day deletion file of inmates transferred from this institution and delete inmate images and files weekly from Digital Id System. Ensures all inmates that are released to Outside Court are photographed and sent to Tallahassee via internet. Supervises and instructs inmates engaged in performing task associated with the production of inmates badges, photo images for picture cards and medical files. Teach assigned inmates to perform task in the area of photography through on the job and classroom instruction. Instructs inmates in the proper care and maintenance of equipment and supplies. Uses three (3) chemical development system in semi-automatic roll paper processor using temperature controls within one half degree to ensure a uniform negative result. Assists and instructs in cutting, trimming and mounting of prints on correspondence records and properly identifying and filing negatives. Process and prints photographic work for other institutions throughout the state when photographs are needed for various reports and investigations. Assists Classification Department in photographing gang related tattoos. Printing and lamination of work cards and gate passes for inmates assigned to work squads. Print release photos to ensure release packets are completed. Requisition and maintain adequate supplies to perform assignments and maintains proper inventory information. Maintains proper security of equipment and supplies. Evaluates inmate’s behavior, attitude and instructional progress and advise the Classification Department. Counsel with inmates when necessary regarding proper behavior, attitude and work habits. Coordinates with institutional staff, Department of Corrections Staff and others for technical maintenance, improvements additionalequipment etc. as appropriate. Instructs and assists in the proper mixing of chemicals for the development of color file while assuring it is done a safe and efficient manner and storing them until needed.

A high school diploma or its equivalent and two tears of experience in the occupational area being taught, as defined by the employing agency. College education from an accredited institution or vocational/technical training in the occupational area being taught, as determined by the employing agency, can substitute at the rate of 30 semster, 45 quarter or 720 classroom hours for each year of the required experience.
