FDOT Technician – Drilled Shaft Inspector
Overview:   Universal Engineering Sciences (UES) has an opening in our Construction Services Department. SummaryThe FDOT Technician – Drilled Shaft Inspector role involves conducting thorough inspections of drilled shaft construction sites, ensuring compliance with FDOT standards, and documenting findings accurately. This position requires background in civil engineering, FDOT CTQP Certifications in drilled shaft inspection, and strong communication skills with stakeholders and address construction related issues effectively.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:·       Required to drive, stand, walk, use hands to type, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance, talk, and hear·       Standing or sitting for extended periods of time may be required·       Lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds is expected·       The noise level is usually moderateEssential Duties and Responsibilities: Conducting through inspections of drilled shaft construction sites to ensure compliance with FDOT specifications, plans and standardsPerforming quality control checks on materials, equipment, and workmanship related to drilled shaft installationTraveling to various job sites in a company provided vehicleDocumenting and reporting inspection findings accurately and promptly using appropriate forms and reporting tools to supervisors and colleaguesCommunicating effectively with project managers, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders regarding inspection results, issues and resolutionsMonitoring and tracking construction progress, schedule adherence and adherence to safety protocolsCollaborate with the team members to ensure that construction activities align with project specifications and requirementsStay updated with relevant industry standards, best practices, and regulatory changes related to drilled shaft construction and inspectionParticipate in meetings, workshops and training sessions as required to enhance skills and knowledgeOther duties may be assignedRequired Qualifications:High school graduate with at least 3-5 years of experience in construction inspection or related fieldFDOT CTQP (Construction Training Qualification Program) Drilled Shaft InspectionStrong understanding of FDOT standards, specifications and proceduresCTQP ConcreteValid Driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites as neededMust be at least 18 years old for entry onto job sites, must be able to lift up to 75 lbs. repeatedlyFamiliarity with construction inspection tools, equipment and software applicationsPreferred Qualifications:Preference for experience in the AEC industryWho We Are:   UES provides essential engineering services for some of the most prominent and significant projects in the nation.
