As a Feature Owner Ford Champ you will learn the entire lifecycle of automotive feature development, from initial concept to production launch. Working alongside experienced engineers, the trainee will gain practical experience in systems engineering, cross-functional collaboration, and problem-solving. The trainee will contribute to the development of innovative features for Ford vehicles, focusing on electrification and automation technologies.
**What you´ll do:**
+ Learn and apply a Systems Engineering approach to new feature design. This will involve training and participation in the design process, focusing on meeting customer needs.
+ Assist in the development of new features from early stages to production. This includes contributing to design reviews, documentation, and testing activities.
+ Assist in the development of high-level network, wiring, and power distribution topologies, schematics, and block diagrams. This involves learning the relevant design tools and techniques.
+ Assist in allocating features and functions across electronic modules and subsystems. This includes learning about cost, quality, and performance trade-offs.
+ Assist in developing feature specifications, Failure Mode Avoidance documentation, and verification plans. This includes learning the relevant documentation standards and processes.
+ Assist in reviewing existing system designs to identify cost or quality improvement opportunities. This will involve learning how to analyze existing systems and propose improvements.
+ Assist in developing relationships with cross-functional teams and the supply base. This includes learning about different teams and technologies.
+ Assist in analyzing complex cross-functional systems and implementing innovative solutions. This involves learning problem-solving techniques and working collaboratively with other engineers.
+ Participate in trade-off discussions with cross-functional teams. This will involve learning negotiation skills and understanding diverse perspectives.
+ Assist in communicating complex systems, issues, and resolutions clearly and concisely. This includes learning effective communication techniques.
**What you´ll need:**
+ Active student from any of the last 4 semesters of Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
+ 90% English skills (Oral, reading, writing, and listening)
+ Strong learning agility and a willingness to learn quickly.
+ Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
+ Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
+ Basic understanding of vehicle electrical systems.
