Federal Work Study Student - Old Red Medical Museum **Galveston, Texas, United States** **New** Training & Education UTMB Health Requisition # 2500298 **_Minimum Qualifications:_** UTMB Student at least half time, any school/education program **_Job Description_** This position will be an on-campus position. **_Job Duties_** **_:_** · Assist with the management and care of UTMB’s medical heritage collections. · Facilitate and participate in conservation workshops (utilizing training materials). · Assist with the set-up and preparation of ongoing community engagement activities (including the management, and delivery of historical tours of Old Red). · Act as a liaison between students, museum staff and volunteers. · Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, general clerical duties may include scanning, emails, and proof-reading materials. · Oversee the transfer of collections data from Excel to Past Perfect (utilizing training materials). · Develop promotional materials, including website updates and maintenance. · Develop themes for future temporary exhibitions. · Attend the quarterly Museum Advisory Council meetings and present a standing report. · Support curriculum development for museum related educational initiatives. · Performs other duties as required **_EQUIPMENT_** : Standard office equipment, standard laboratory equipment **_WORKING ENVIRONMENT_** : Standard office equipment, laboratories **Salary Range:** Actual salary commensurate with experience. **EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY:** UTMB Health strives to provide equal opportunity employment without regard to race, color, religion, age, national origin, sex, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity/expression, genetic information, disability, veteran status, or any other basis protected by institutional policy or by federal, state or local laws unless such distinction is required by law.
