Feed Delivery Supervisor

Summary

The Live Production Team is actively recruiting for a Feed Delivery Supervisor in Salisbury, MD.  The primary purpose of this position is to manage and optimize all aspects of feed delivery at the Salisbury and Bridgeville Feed Mill. This includes, but not limited to, feed scheduling, dispatch, company and contract drivers, and fleet maintenance. This position will coordinate delivery of feed to our contract farmers in a safe, timely, and efficient manner the optimizes and maximizes company resources in accordance with Live Operations, Tech Services & Transportation requirements. This includes but is not limited to, FDA, CGMP’s, FSMA & Sanitary Transportation requirements as well as DOT regulations. In addition, be a backup to the Salisbury feed mill manager, supporting the day-to-day operations when needed. This position will utilize systems routinely which includes but is not limited to (Fleet Tracking, BetaRaven and MTech). In addition, the tracking of performance metrics and the analysis of data to identify opportunity for improvement, develop plans, and manage change are required.

 

 

The salary range for this position is $63,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year, based on experience and qualifications with annual bonus available (variable depending on performance).

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities Provide leadership to the feed delivery team including feed schedulers, dispatchers, and contract/company drivers.  Ensuring feeding programs and schedules are maintained within established guidelines. Optimize fleet resources to delivery feed with maximum efficiency that results in improved cost and performance. Track and analyze key daily, weekly, monthly reporting metrics as directed by management and identify areas for improvement. Investigate delivery accuracy concerns using all resources available including satellite tracking. Provide support to drivers regarding ELD compliance and support Fleet Safety policies and programs. Schedule drivers and delivery personnel to deliver feed safely and efficiently, resulting in limited feed disruptions on farms. This includes supporting and coordinating activities with other feed mill management including manufacturing, and maintenance. Work with the Salisbury & Bridgeville garage to coordinate PM maintenance of the delivery fleet. Minimum Education

B.S. degree is preferred in the field of Agriculture, Transportation & Logistics, Poultry Science or Agribusiness Management.

CDL preferred but not required.

Experience Requirements

2 plus years experience.  Prior supervisor/management experience.  Excellent organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills; general knowledge of FMC DOT guidelines and detailed geographical knowledge of the eastern U.S.

Experience Preferred

No certified technical skills required. Valid State driver license required. A general knowledge of computers, and familiarity with MS Office, Mtech recommended. Applicant must possess the ability to obtain proficiency with additional training in Labvantage, Beta Raven Mill Control System & Mill Master Database, PCQI for Food Safety, Crash Scene Investigation, and Samsara.

Exposed to Environmental temperatures, weather, and air born dust, must wear personal protective equipment to include hard, hat safety boots and hearing protection  Must be able to climb stairs and ladders Must be able to work in an office environment.
