Repairs and overhauls automobiles, pickups. four wheelers, semis, heavy equipment and other automotive vehicles and related components/attachments by performing the following duties. **ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Under limited supervision, work with the team to support the daily operations of a busy agricultural shop. Set up, adjust, and operate machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, boring machines, drills and punch presses, and grinders in the fabrication and repair of feedlot and/or farm vehicles, machinery, and equipment. Must be skilled in the areas of heavy equipment, troubleshooting, diagnostics and repair, engine hydraulics, welding, and preventive maintenance systems. Will work with a team of skilled mechanics as well as with management and vendors to efficiently maintain fleet. Examines vehicle and discusses with driver or Shop Supervisor nature and extent of damage or malfunction. Performs trouble shooting on problem equipment in order to set job priority on crucial repairs. Inspects finished tasks to ensure that proper parts and methods were used for repairing equipment malfunctions. **QUALIFICATIONS** To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. **MATHEMATICAL SKILLS** Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure. **REASONING ABILITY** Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. **OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES** Must have own hand tools.
