POSITION PURPOSE AND SUMMARY

The Student Fellow in physical therapy participates in both the preparatory aspects of care including transfers, transporting, equipment set up and assistive aspects of care which assists the physical therapist to deliver quality physical therapy care. Equipment and departmental maintenance is done as assigned. A learning emphasis is placed on this positions that prepares the Fellow not only for the current position but also for a future career as a physical therapist. This position reports to the Supervisor of Inpatient or Outpatient PT/OT and ultimately to the Director of Therapy Services.

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Student must be actively enrolled or accepted into an accredited Physical Therapy of Physical Therapy Assistant education program. Trained on the job per skills list/competencies and orientation to hospital and department.
