The Neurological Surgery Skull Base Fellow will be involved as an assisting surgeon in all skull base, endoscopic and complex cranial cases. The fellow will follow the pre-operative as well as postoperative course of the patient. The patients will be discussed with the attending physician in a manner to maximize a teaching experience for the fellow, while encouraging increasing autonomy and responsibility.
Supports the Skull base Division in all aspects of clinical care and research while working with and training medical students, residents and clinic staff to further enhance their education within this specialty.
Function/Duties of PositionProvides case management/clinical care and education for patients referred to the Division of Skull Base Neurosurgery. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Selecting and performing surgical anatomy and skull base surgery projects in the Temporal Bone lab.Assisting faculty members both in the operating room and clinical settings.Responsible to assist faculty in teaching residents, medical students and clinic staff.Meeting with patients in the clinical setting and working with the clinic staff to obtain the goals and missions of the Department of Neurological Surgery and Oregon Health and Science University.Manuscript publication. Required Qualifications Must have completed an ACGME accredited residency program in Neurological Surgery or equivalent.
