Fencing Foreman
**Job Title: Fence Labor Foreman** **Job Description** The Fence Labor Foreman performs a variety of tasks and assists other craft workers in the construction, maintenance, and repair activities on solar PV systems. The foreman may delegate some duties to other competent individuals but is ultimately responsible for the following functions: Stage, measure, and install fencing for PV systems; Monitor and assist the workflow during the fence installation to ensure the project is completed on the designated date, coordinate with management about issues, delays, or setbacks; Provide daily reports to the construction manager on progress and goals using appropriate forms and communication pathways; Maintain all fencing, rental, or NES owned equipment on site to avoid failures caused by poor maintenance; Alert CSG managers and Human Resources of any potential personnel conflicts or injuries on site; Assist with the workflow of crews on site which can include scheduling with sub-contractors who may also be working on site; Adhere to the inventory policies, proper use, and maintenance of company-issued tools; Perform the receiving of material or shipments to include safe unloading, checking material to PO or Invoice, and maintaining paperwork for hand-off to construction manager; Follow NES and OSHA safety regulations and adhere to safety training; Provide on-the-job training to fencing crew; Ensure quality of workmanship meets or exceeds minimum industry and NES standards; Arrive to work punctually and diligently perform the duties and tasks assigned; Open the site in the morning and close the site at end of day or have 1 designated site person to perform this function. This includes setting up daily sign-in sheets in the a.m. and ensuring labor hours are recorded properly; Sign in on time to the appropriate task for proper tracking of labor hours; Attend Toolbox talks and POD (Plan of the Day) meeting to uphold NES safety protocol on site; Complete and submit all JHA’s (Job Hazard Analysis), Incident reports, employee performance warnings, and activity reports to construction manager and HR where applicable; Determine need and send in requests for additional materials, equipment, and personnel. Discuss needs with construction manager; Train employees on specific tasks for understanding, safety, and flow of work; Be available for overtime or emergency response as needed. **Hard Skills** + Stage, measure, and install fencing + Provide daily reports + Maintain equipment + Assist workflow of crews + Adhere to inventory policies + Perform receiving of material or shipments + Follow NES and OSHA safety regulations + On-the-job training + Quality control of workmanship + Daily equipment checks + Coordinate with construction managers **Soft Skills** + Punctuality + Diligence + Communication + Problem-solving + Team coordination + Safety awareness + Training and development + Emergency response readiness **Job Type** This is a permanent position. **Work Site** This is a fully on-site position in Chelsea, Maine. **Work Environment** 50 hour work week (Monday through Friday). Multiple sites in northern and southern Maine (Presque Isle and Portland). Working in all elements. PPE and work clothing worn on site. $200 per diem for 7 days a week for those out of state and $150 per diem per day worked for those in state.
