Job Title: Fermentation ManagerJob Description Direct and maintain all aspects of the fermentation process at a technically proficient level. Supervise a group of four to eight individuals on the fermentation and freeze drying processes. Perform daily hands-on work associated with the fermentation equipment, freeze drying equipment, and ensure production runs smoothly and hits daily goals. Responsibilities + Hire, fire, coach, train, and hold accountable all team members in the group. + Troubleshoot issues that arise daily to ensure production goals are met or exceeded. + Maintain a strong working culture to ensure team effectiveness and cohesion is maintained or improved. + Troubleshoot fermentation equipment as needed on a daily basis. Essential Skills + Fermentation + Supervisory skills + Hands-on management + Production management + Microbiology + Bacteria culture Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience in fermentation and freeze drying processes + Supervisory or managerial experience in a similar role + Experience in the food industry or API/Chemical field + GMP + cGMP + KPI management Work Environment This is a fermentation site, and you will be supervising fermentation technicians and freeze drying personnel. You will work closely with corporate teams and other fermentation scientists developing microbes for customers. The role involves working in both the fermentation area and the office. This is a first shift role with a variable start time between 6:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. The typical workweek is 40 to 45 hours, with occasional requirements up to 50+ hours if there are production issues or new client setups. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $100000.00 This company offers health, dental, vision and a 401k match of up to 6%. They will also get a bonus based on the date of hire.
