Job Description
We are seeking both Senior and Intermediate Fiber Splicers to join our telecommunications contractor team in Minneapolis, MN. The ideal candidates will have extensive experience in fiber splicing and troubleshooting large fiber networks.
ResponsibilitiesPerform work from a single splice point to splicing and troubleshooting large fiber networksConduct new build and maintenance services including splicing preparation, installation, testing, and repair of fiber optic cables using various fusion splicing and testing equipmentAccurately read and interpret splicing documents, splicing engineer packets, and network plan designs in preparation for each jobUse fusion splicing equipment to splice fiber optic cables, both single and mass fusion, in indoor and outdoor environmentsFollow required inspection processes and perform fiber testing using Optical Time Domain Reflectometers (OTDR)Repair fiber optic cables as needed or requiredDocument and maintain accurate splicing records and job site notesMaintain company vehicle, inventory, and small toolsEssential SkillsMinimum of 3 years demonstrated splicing work experience on large fiber networksKnowledge of fusion splicing equipmentProficiency in ribbon splicing proceduresExperience with Optical Time Domain Reflectometers (OTDR)Experience using Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Word, SharePoint, and ExcelAbility to use light source and power metersAbility to drive between work sitesAdditional Skills & QualificationsExperience with construction, cable, optic, telecommunication, fiber optic installation, and electrical wiringProficiency with hand and power toolsWhy Work Here?

Work Environment
Occasional overnight travel (1-2 nights) within Minnesota; all other work is local. Day and night shifts are available: 6:00 am to 3:00 pm or 8:00 pm to 5:00 am, in 3-5 person teams. A shift differential is provided.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $40.00
