Top Skills Required: + High-volume fiber pulling and splicing + Proficiency with Fluke Testers Other Skills: + Cat6 and Cat5 installation + Cable testing and troubleshooting + Rack assembly and installation + Crimping and punchdowns Job Description: + Run and splice fiber (must know color codes) + Use OTDR + Install work area outlets for floor, modular furniture, and walls (terminate CAT 3 & CAT 5 jacks, mount face plates, and surface mount boxes). + Build and install closets (mount backboards, cross connects, racks, patch panels, fiber optic hardware). + Perform testing and troubleshooting on horizontal and riser cables. + Identify active voice or data circuits. + Complete all required paperwork accurately and on time. + Adhere to all company, customer, and industry quality and safety standards. Tools You'll Use: + Screwdrivers, drywall saw, torpedo level, tape measure, snips, pliers, hammer, cable stripper, flashlight, gloves. + Punch tool with 110 block and 66 block blade, tone set, 6/8 position combo crimp tool, and Krone/3M/BIX. + OTDR, fiber splicer Additional Skills & Qualifications: + Strong expertise in splicing and ribbonized/infused splicing. + Experience installing IDF/MDF closets from the ground up. + Knowledge of punch downs and color codes. + Experience using both ends of a Versiv Fluke tester for fiber and/or copper. Work Environment: + Primary site: Data center in Aiken, SC + Conditions: Indoor and outdoor, new construction, hot environments, lots of walking, hauling materials, working at heights.
