Field AV Service Technician - Operating Room Integration

Travel will be required up to 80%-90%, Mon – Fri most weeks of the year with the potential for a weekend project every 6th week. Travel will be local when possible but it very well could be from coast to coast depending upon business needs.

 

This role will reside in Fresno, CA, Seattle, WA, or Tacoma, WA

As an OR1 Performance Support Specialist II, you will be the go-to expert for troubleshooting and maintaining advanced AV and IP systems in high-stakes operating room environments. You will tackle complex technical challenges, guide internal teams, and ensure optimal performance of KARL STORZ OR1 systems, contributing directly to cutting-edge surgical technology.

What You will Be Doing: 

 

Serve as the technical expert on AV and IP systems, resolving advanced technical issues.  Troubleshoot and maintain AV/IT systems in operating rooms, including preventative maintenance.  Provide onsite, remote, and phone support for customer technical inquiries.  Collaborate with the Critical Response Team to manage high-priority incidents.  Document service events and complete reports promptly.  Train customers and internal teams on system usage.  Drive service revenue by delivering exceptional service and fostering strong customer relationships. 

 

What You Bring:

 

5-7 years of experience in AV/IP technical support, including but not limited to cable handling, rack/field termination, and the installation of AV equipment.   Strong expertise in AV systems, cable terminations, IP infrastructure, control systems, and more.  Ability to read schematics, modify equipment, and propose system improvements.  Excellent communication and customer service skills.  Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AV equipment installation. 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

 

CompTIA A+ or CTS certifications.  Willingness to travel extensively and meet hospital credentialing requirements. 

 

Physical Requirements 

 

Ability to lift and move up to 100 lbs., work in tight spaces, and perform tasks at various heights.  Regular walking, standing, bending, kneeling, and reaching.
