Job Overview Incumbent is responsible for providing project control and direction, as well as monitoring, correcting and reporting on the status of the construction activities. Ensures compliance with applicable Safety Program and the EM 385 for a safe work environment. Work Model: Onsite Responsibilities Essential Duties & Job Functions: Supervises all field construction activities. Assists the subcontractor in obtaining necessary clearances, permits and storage area. Schedules, Material delivery, Work crews and subcontractor activities to insure timely completion Conduct and Record Weekly Safety Meetings and minutes, Ensure that Safety Equipment is maintained correctly Provide daily maintenance to the as-built drawings to insure compliance with the Contract. Maintain regular communications with Supervisor regarding project status and current issues. Maintaining safe, productive work sites Maintain a Current inventory of all owned, Leased or rented equipment experience in planning and scheduling work phases of projects; ability to interpret contract drawings and engineering specifications; understanding of electrical, mechanical and specialty trades; skill in dealing with others in person-to-person work relationships; experience and skill in scheduling man-hour and material resources Verifies work in place, computes its value for progress payment purposes. Inspects contractors’ workmanship and materials to ensure compliance with specifications for on-going and completed work. Notifies the QCM immediately of any discrepencies. Monitors all stages of construction to identify potential problems. Reports problems and recommends solutions to the Project Manager and QCM. Audits, analyzes, and provides evaluation of performance to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, stipulations, and standards. Ensures adherence to the Chugach Field Safety Program, and the EM 385 and strives to maintain an accident-free environment. Performs and documents safety audits reporting findings to the Project Manager and SSHO. Investigates accidents and ensures any needed corrective actions are completed. Ensures project complies with all safety regulations as well as state and or contractual standards to avoid fines, civil penalties or criminal prosecution. May assist in training or supervising new employees. Promotes quality and excellence in customer service. Performs other related duties as assigned. Job Requirements Mandatory: High School Diploma or GED. Ten (10) years of experience on construction projects to include five (5) years of supervisory experience. Ten (10) years satisfactory experience in preparing and enforcing a safety program with five of the 10 years of experience in construction and/or demolition. A current or the ability to obtain a 30-hour OSHA safety class certificate. Current First Aid/ CPR card. Knowledge of Safety & Health Requirement (EM-385-1-1). Possess a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government National Agency Check (NAC) clearance and/or security clearance if required. Ability to successfully pass any background checks and/or drug testing required on the contract. U.S. Citizenship.
