**Field Electrician**
**Job Description**
The candidate will be responsible for traveling to different landfills in Illinois to perform electrical troubleshooting and maintenance. This includes servicing landfill gas flares, pumps, and controls, performing inspections, electrical service, writing daily reports, and various other duties as assigned. The amount of travel will depend on the needs at each site. Overnight stays in hotels may be required.
**Responsibilities**
+ Travel to various landfill sites in Illinois and perform electrical troubleshooting and maintenance.
+ Service landfill gas flares, pumps, and controls.
+ Perform inspections and electrical services.
+ Write daily reports and complete various other duties as assigned.
+ Read and interpret schematics and wiring diagrams.
+ Safely wire and connect/disconnect electrical equipment with AC/DC voltages up to 600VAC.
+ Troubleshoot and repair all types of electrical controls, including three-phase motors and equipment.
+ Troubleshoot and repair Programmable Logic Controlled (PLC) equipment.
+ Perform electrical equipment installations according to National Electrical Code (NEC), including all feeder and branch circuits.
+ Perform some electrical control design work and equipment control modifications.
+ Read, comprehend, and alter electrical and mechanical drawings.
+ Utilize arc flash and other PPE and properly perform lock out/tag out procedures.
+ Occasionally perform field service of control panels and other equipment at sites across the U.S.
+ Maintain a clean and organized work area.
+ Work in a safe manner and promote a safe work environment at all times.
**Essential Skills**
+ Experience in electrical troubleshooting and maintenance.
+ Proficiency with PLCs.
+ Experience working outside or traveling from site to site.
+ Knowledge of single and three-phase power applications up to 600VAC.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Hands-on experience with electrical maintenance and PLCs.
+ Flexibility in traveling from site to site.
+ Ability to work outside in various weather conditions.

**Work Environment**
Candidates will be working at different landfills, which may have strong smells and are not temperature-controlled environments. When traveling, candidates will receive around $40/day in per diem for meals and lodging in 3+ star hotels, which will be paid for by the company.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract position based out of Springfield, Illinois.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00
