Purpose of Role: The Field Engineer will be responsible for understanding customer processes and equipment in order to provide high level technical support. This will include visiting customer sites, attending shutdowns, collecting data, assisting with inspections, and providing performance analysis and technical information. The position will work closely with technology centers, aftermarket sales and key Hard Rock Mining customers.

Key Responsibilities:
Customer Support: Understand customer processes and installed equipment in order to provide technical support and solutions. Regularly visit customer sites and build relationships with all levels of employees.Monitor Equipment: Collect and monitor operating and wear data on critical Hard Rock Mining equipment and assist in providing performance analysis and reports, which will drive wear performance improvements and wear life expectations. Prepare Reports: Assist management with inventory estimates and forecasts based on customer usage. Assist service teams with preparation of presentations on key equipmentConsistent Communication: Liaison between customers and Weir internal teams to modify equipment and/or component design to improve performance and wear life and meet customer requirementsSafety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:
Engineering degree (Mechanical, Industrial, or Process Engineering)1+ year of technical or engineering experience - Preference given to candidates exposed to field service in an industrial/mining environmentAbility to use various inspection instruments and hand tools with a strong mechanical aptitude and understandingPrevious experience with the disassembly, evaluation, repair and reassembly of industrial mining equipment would be considered an asset.Founded in 1871, Weir is a world leading engineering business with a purpose to make mining operations smarter, more efficient and sustainable.
