Job Title: Field Engineer
Job Description

The Traveling Field Engineer will be part of the industrial group and will travel to various projects across the country. These complex industrial projects range from 3 weeks to 18 months on site, with scheduled visits home.

ResponsibilitiesPerform analysis of construction methods including crane reaches, formwork design, erosion control, and grading modifications.Produce miscellaneous sketches and drawings as required to show field conditions to the architect and clarify plan details for craft persons.Verify quality and compliance of installation with specifications and drawings for all work.Process and expedite answers to RFIs generated from the field and ensure correct incorporation of answers.Participate in and contribute to Operation Planning Process, weekly coordination meetings, superintendent meetings, daily crew huddles, and foreman meetings.Schedule and conduct pre-installation meetings for any subcontractor with on-site labor, prepare meeting agendas, and ensure attendance by all parties.Prepare and monitor written delivery schedule log and inspect shipments of all deliveries as directed by the Superintendent.Expedite punchlist during project closeout and track and verify that items on the punchlist are being completed.Essential SkillsExperience in construction, RFI processing, change orders, project engineering, project coordination, commercial construction, estimation, project scheduling, and blueprint reading.Proficiency in construction management, project management, field engineering, and working with general contractors.Ability to manage ground-up projects and building systems.Additional Skills & QualificationsFour-year engineering degree related to construction preferred.3-4 years of experience as a Project Engineer on industrial projects preferred.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Valid Driver's License.Willingness to travel.Work Environment

The role requires reporting to the Madison, WI office, but involves heavy travel. Engineers will spend a few weeks onsite and then return home for a few weeks. The team consists of 3 Directors, 10 PMs, 3 APMs, and 9 Engineers who travel and move across PMs depending on project size and scope. Projects include upgrades to existing facilities, mostly manufacturing food and beverage sites, with occasional ground-up projects. The typical work week ranges from 40-50 hours, with possible longer hours when traveling for shorter durations. Mileage reimbursement, housing or per diem is offered depending on project specifics.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $34.00 - $44.00/hr.
