We are seeking a highly motivated Field Engineer with a degree in Civil Engineering or Geology and ACI certification. The role involves testing samples from job sites, including soil, concrete, asphalt, and rebar. You will be responsible for transporting samples to the lab, performing inspections, and submitting daily reports. This is a great opportunity to be part of a dynamic team in a growing company.
Responsibilities
+ Perform field and laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials such as soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel.
+ Communicate with project managers, engineering technicians, client representatives, and contractors regarding project requirements and testing results.
+ Transport material samples with associated documentation to the laboratory for further testing and analysis.
+ Tabulate, prepare, and submit data and observations in written and digital reports for daily transmittal to the Project Manager.
+ Maintain and clean equipment, vehicles, and work areas.
+ Assist with scheduling and dispatch of Technicians to project sites.
+ Adhere to strict safety standards and perform pre-task planning prior to executing work.
+ Report any safety issues or concerns to management and maintain quality standards on all projects.
+ Assist higher-level technicians or staff professionals with tasks and perform basic testing and observation duties under close supervision.
+ Provide clear documentation of findings and results and discuss accuracy of data with the Project Manager.
Essential Skills
+ Degree in Civil Engineering or Geology.
+ ACI certification.
+ Experience in soil sampling, construction, concrete testing, and using a nuclear density gauge.
+ Knowledge of construction materials such as aggregates, concrete, asphalt, steel, and rebar.
+ Strong communication and documentation skills.
+ Ability to adhere to strict safety standards.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in environmental science, construction management, and geotechnical engineering.
+ Laboratory experience is a plus.
+ Ability to travel to various job sites in the Philadelphia area, Central PA, State College, and NY.
Work Environment
This role is based in Moorestown, NJ, also considered the 'Philadelphia East' office. You will be working outside in various conditions on construction job sites with a provided hard hat. The hours are from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with potential for overtime. The dress code includes work boots, jeans, and a t-shirt. You will be working individually for most of the time and need to check in with the Project Manager before the end of each shift to provide status updates.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
