Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Field Engineer with a degree in Civil Engineering or Geology and ACI certification. The successful candidate will be responsible for testing samples from job sites, including soil, concrete, asphalt, and rebar. This role involves transporting samples to the lab, submitting data and observations in reports, and performing various inspections.
ResponsibilitiesPerform field and laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials such as soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel.Communicate with project managers, engineering technicians, client representatives, and contractors regarding construction site requirements and results.Transport material samples with identifying documentation to the laboratory for further testing and analysis.Prepare and submit data and observations in written and digital reports daily.Maintain and clean equipment, vehicles, and work areas.Assist with scheduling and dispatching technicians to project sites.Adhere to strict safety standards.Assist higher-level technicians or staff professionals with basic testing and observation duties under close supervision.Provide clear documentation of findings and results.Communicate information to the Project Manager and discuss the accuracy of data before submission.Submit documentation and communicate results as directed by the Project Manager.Take on progressively increased roles of training and responsibility.Follow safety rules and practices for all projects.Perform pre-task planning prior to executing work.Report any safety issues or concerns to management.Maintain quality standards on all projects.Essential SkillsCivil Engineering or Geology degreeACI certificationExperience with soil sampling, concrete testing, and the use of nuclear density gaugesKnowledge of construction materials such as aggregates, asphalt, steel, and rebarStrong communication and documentation skillsAbility to maintain and clean equipment and work areasAdditional Skills & QualificationsExperience in environmental science or construction managementGeotechnical and laboratory skillsAbility to work independently and within a teamStrong problem-solving and organizational skillsWork Environment
The position is based in Moorestown, NJ, with responsibilities including travel to sites within a 50 mile radius. The home base is the Philadelphia East office. The work environment includes outdoor construction job sites in various conditions, with provided safety gear such as hard hats. Working hours are typically from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with potential overtime. The dress code includes work boots, jeans, and a t-shirt.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.
