Overview
Uses engineering knowledge and methods to design, install, support, and repair technological tools and equipment at a location other than the employee's home office (in the field, at a remote office, or at a client site). Analyzes user needs; builds, modifies, installs, and tests products. Troubleshoots errors or malfunctions and performs unscheduled or routine maintenance. Creates, distributes, and maintains service or training manuals; provides on-site training. Performs work under general supervision. Handles moderately complex issues and problems, and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff. Possesses solid working knowledge of subject matter. Typically requires BA and 2-4 years.
Responsibilities
The site lead / SME for a large site is responsible for the direction and welfare of 10 or more personnel.
Functions include the following: Oversees the maintenance of vehicles, personnel, and shop operations. Responsible for planning and enforcing safety requirements and requisitioning supplies, parts, and necessary materials.
Serves as the primary point of contact with the unit on all matters related to the maintenance and repair of the FOSOV fleet.
Understands complex mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, ventilation, and/or instrumentation systems, and uses analytical and investigative methods and techniques to ensure systems meet required specifications.
Establishes methods to meet work schedules and coordinates work activities with the customer.
Supervises, coordinates, and schedules the activities of workers who repair and maintain the FOSOV fleet.
Resolves work problems and recommends work measures to improve productivity.
Prepares production and other reports.
Responsible for QA / QC inspections of all equipment repaired at responsible sites prior to the equipment being returned to the customer.
Is familiar with GMV 1.1’s, M1113s, M1151s, M1165s M1152s, MRAPs (RG31, RG33 and MATV), ATVs, MRZR-A, MRZR-D, and other power-driven equipment that may require Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) Technical Manuals assigned to the designated SF Group.
Qualifications
Requires ASE Master Mechanic Certification or equivalent and approximately 10 years of experience on military or commercial vehicles.
Must be a U.S. citizen with an active security clearance SECRET level or higher.
Must be able to maintain a secret clearance.
Ability to work in all types of weather.
Ability to stand, sit, bend, reach and walk for extended periods of time.
Ability to pass a background check and pre-employment drug test.
