Field Engineer I - Telemetry Systems Operator

JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple Western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force, Space Force, and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II. JT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepares our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges.

What You Will Do with JT4

The Telemetry Field Engineer will repair, operate and maintain all ground test equipment including computer, radio, and antenna systems. Assist in data analysis, card processing, and actively monitor missions in a control room.

JOB FUNCTIONS/ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Provide assistance to a constant flow of new students and instructors with data analysis for all projects associated with the Test Pilot School Troubleshoot, repair, and perform general maintenance to a variety of antennas, datalinks and ground support equipment Process, convert, log, and analyze telemetry data for a variety of teams Repair work on Antennas working at heights with fall arrest equipment Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested

RANGE POSITION DESCRIPTION

The incumbent of this position will perform engineering tasks associated to the operation and maintenance of all ground test systems, both computer and radio systems, in support of the Test Pilot Schools (TPS) curriculum and test flight operations. Some of these tasks will require working at heights requiring the use of Fall Protection PPE. After receiving training the incumbent will be required to provide assistance to a constant flow of new students and instructors with data analysis for all projects associated with the TPS. This task will also provide information to TPS students concerning ground station and simulator operations, and data analysis concepts used in the testing environment. The incumbent must be able to work variable shifts, occasional overtime to include weekend and holidays as the mission dictates.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

Basic Linux system operation Data Processing, Electronics, Wire Repair, Troubleshooting CompTIA Security+ or similar certification

REQUIREMENTS - EDUCATION, TECHNICAL, AND WORK EXPERIENCE

Associates degree in engineering or formal academic/vocational training, or military equivalent, and 4 or more years of technical/professional experience in the specialty field. Must have a professional knowledge of applicable engineering concepts and principles, and a familiarity with related engineering fields. Must have a practical knowledge of test methods and practices sufficient to perform relatively routine engineering procedures and to prepare or make minor modifications of standard test procedures or test equipment work instructions. Must have effective verbal and written communication skills. Incumbent must have a valid, current state-issued driver's license. Must qualify for and maintain a government security clearance. U.S. Citizenship is required.

SALARY

The expected salary range for this position is $74,380 to $80,000 annually.

WORKING CONDITIONS

This position involves work typical of an office environment with no unusual hazards. There is occasional lifting (up to 20 pounds), constant sitting and use of a computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while writing, reviewing, and editing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, and constant mental alertness. Routine travel to remote Company work locations may be required.
