We are seeking a dedicated Field Engineer with a degree in Civil Engineering or Geology. The ideal candidate must be able to travel to various locations including PA and NJ to conduct testing on samples from job sites such as soil, concrete, asphalt, and rebar.
Responsibilities:
Perform field and/or laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials (e.g. soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel).Communicate with project manager, engineering technicians, client representative, contractor’s representative, and others regarding the construction site, project requirements, and testing, observation, and inspection requirements and results.Transport material samples with associated identifying documentation to the laboratory for further testing and analysis.Tabulate, prepare, and submit data and observations in the form of written and digital reports as work is performed for daily transmittal to the Project Manager.Maintain and clean equipment, vehicles, and work areas.Assist with scheduling and dispatch of Technicians to project sites.Adhere to strict safety standards.Assist on tasks and perform basic testing and observations duties under close supervision of higher-level technicians or staff professionals.QualificationsDegree in Civil Engineering or Geology.Ability to travel to PA, NJ, and other locations as required.Experience in soil sampling, concrete testing, and working with construction materials.Knowledge of nuclear density gauge and sediment testing.Proficiency in environmental science and construction management.Ability to transport samples and aggregates.Experience in geotechnical and laboratory settings.Work EnvironmentThis position is based in South Jersey, Moorestown NJ location. The role involves working outside in various conditions on construction job sites. A hard hat will be provided. Typical working hours are from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with overtime available at times. Much of the work will be performed individually, with check-ins with the project manager before each shift ends for status updates. The dress code includes work boots, jeans, and a t-shirt.
