Description
The Commercial Field Exam team supports the underwriting of facilities to New/Existing borrowers, Renewals, Annual Reviews, and Special Requests. The Field Examiner will participate in on-site evaluation of an existing or prospective borrower’s books, records, and operations to ensure compliance with bank lending policies and procedures, assessing collateral adequacy and quality, by detecting changes in trends and identifying risks. The Field Examiner will assist in preparing a detailed report of significant exam findings for distribution to the bank. The ideal candidate will be an analytical problem solver who demonstrates excellent oral and written communication skills along with the capacity to work independently and with internal/external stakeholders.
Primary responsibilities include:
Performs in-depth analysis of overall financial condition of various companies/industries, identifying credit risks, trends, and deteriorating situations.Plays a key role in verifying both collateral value and existence with the primary focus accounts receivable and inventory.Effectively evaluates internal reporting systems and collateral reporting submitted to the Bank.Prepares a comprehensive and concise written report, inclusive of an Executive Summary, highlighting key examination issues, risks and recommendations (actions related to current and future monitoring of the credit such as appropriate formula advance rates and reserves).Qualifications:
2-3 years’ experience as a Field Examiner or Auditor (or similar role).Familiarity with credit agreements and asset-based lending fundamentals.Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.Good interpersonal skills.Attention to detail.Ability to interact with all levels of management internally and externally.Ability to identify and solve problems.Ability to make sound recommendations.Self-motivated, well-organized individual.Technologically Proficient in Data Analysis, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.Knowledge of data mining and audit software a plus.Flexibility to travel locally and overnight up to 50%.Education/Certifications:
BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.MBA, CPA, or CFE is a plus.Hours & Work Schedule: Hybrid in the office 1-2 days (Johnston or Westwood) when not traveling locally and overnight up to 50%.
