Field Geophysicist/Geologist Job Description We are seeking a Field Geophysicist/Geologist to join our team. This role is ideal for recent graduates with experience in geology, engineering geology, geological engineering, or civil engineering, and a concentration in geophysics. The successful candidate will be trained to perform basic geophysical field surveys and document geotechnical and geologic investigations. Responsibilities + Apply sound engineering or geologic principles in all aspects of work. + Communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing, with supervisors, clients, contractors, and other outside parties. + Be proficient with Microsoft Office and 2D AutoCAD and be capable of learning and operating company-developed desktop and mobile applications needed for day-to-day activities. + Perform basic geophysical field surveys such as electrical resistivity, ground penetrating radar, and utility locating. + Observe and document geotechnical and geologic investigations including test borings and test pits on project sites throughout Eastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Southern New York. Essential Skills + 0-1 years of experience in geology, geotechnical, or civil engineering. + Bachelor’s degree in geology, engineering geology, geological engineering, or civil engineering with a concentration in geophysics. + Valid driver’s license with an acceptable violation history. + Proficiency in Microsoft Office and 2D AutoCAD. + Willingness to travel extensively and stay overnight in hotels. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Master’s degree in a related field is also acceptable. + Internship experience is beneficial. Work Environment + The majority of the time will be spent in the field with extensive travel required, including overnight stays in hotels across Harrisburg, Long Island, West Chester New York, Delaware, and Maryland. Reimbursement will be provided on a per diem/direct expense basis, and hotel stays will include a meal stipend. + The role also includes some in-office work for meetings, training, lab testing, and other office-related tasks. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.84 - $33.65 Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
