About the Role

Join our Health & Safety team and play a crucial role in fostering a culture of safety within ATCO. As an Entry Level Field Health & Safety Advisor, you’ll play a vital role in supporting ATCO’s commitment to creating a safe and compliant workplace. You’ll assist in ensuring that health and safety policies, procedures, and systems are effectively implemented and maintained while working closely with operational teams to foster a culture of safety.

What You’ll Do:

Provide support in implementing ATCO’s Health & Safety Management System (HSMS) across assigned areas. Conduct site visits to ensure compliance with health and safety policies and identify areas for improvement. Assist in developing and maintaining safety procedures, policies, and action plans. Participate in workplace inspections, audits, and incident investigations. Support the delivery of health and safety training programs and materials. Collaborate with teams to enhance health and safety performance and ensure regulatory compliance. Maintain and update safety records and documentation. Assist with Joint Health and Safety Committees and contribute to health and safety meetings.

What you Bring:

A certificate, diploma or degree in Occupational Health and Safety from a recognized post-secondary institution Knowledge of OHS Act/Regulations/Code, CSA Standards, other legislative requirements Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint  Valid Alberta driver’s license (Class 5). Trade certificate (related to electricity) is considered an asset Ability to influence and collaborate with management, staff and contractors to achieve improved safety behaviors in a non-confrontational manner

Working Conditions:

Away from home overnight travel is a requirement for this role

 

This position falls under the ATCO Electric and Canadian Energy Workers Association Collective Agreement.
