This position primarily involves fieldwork in Western and Central New York, offering the chance to work on meaningful projects. Responsibilities: + Collect samples in multiple media (soil, water, air) according to established protocols and procedures. + Record data and observations accurately. + Use specialized equipment to collect and preserve samples, and ensure samples are properly labeled, stored, and shipped. + Follow QA/QC guidelines. + Follow safety guidelines and regulations. + Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, geologists, other scientists, and subcontractors. + Assist in preparing reports, tables and figures based on field observations and sample data. Requirements: + Bachelor's degree in Geology, Environmental Science, or related science + 0-1 year of relevant experience + Strong technical writing, and written/oral communication skills + Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). + Travel required, typically day trips + Will need to be available for projects that require long days (10 to 12+ hours) and occasional weekend work. + Access to reliable transportation, valid driver's license, clean driving record Physical Requirements: + Ability to lift and carry equipment and samples, which may weigh up to 50 pounds. + Capability to work in various weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and rain. + Stamina to walk, stand, and bend for extended periods while collecting samples. + Dexterity to handle small tools and equipment with precision. + Willingness to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hat, gloves, masks, and safety glasses. $50,000-$55,000 Equal Opportunity Employer/Veterans/Disabled
